A stylish closet makeover in Toronto

When Catherine Belknap of Cat and Nat reached out to Lumea Living Toronto (formerly NEAT Method Toronto), she was looking for closet organization in Toronto that would make her space easier to navigate and better suited to her daily routine. Having previously collaborated with Co-Founder Jen Rowe and the team on her kitchen, she trusted them to create a closet that felt both functional and reflective of how she lives.

The goal was simple but meaningful: transform a cluttered closet into a space that supports her routine while remaining visually calm. This project illustrates how thoughtful organization can bring clarity, ease, and flow to even the most personal spaces in a Toronto home.

Closet organization in a Toronto home designed for daily ease

Repurposing unused space

One of the most underutilized elements in the closet was a built-in laundry hamper that no longer served Catherine’s needs. Rather than remove it, the team chose to repurpose the space by installing expandable, stackable shoe racks. As a result, the closet gained valuable storage while remaining easy to navigate.

By working with what already existed, Lumea Living ensured the space felt intentional, efficient, and tailored—without unnecessary renovation or disruption.

Thoughtful drawer organization

Accessories had long been a source of frustration in the space. To address this, Lumea Living introduced acacia drawer dividers that clearly defined zones for each category. Because every item now has a designated place, maintaining order feels far more intuitive.

This small yet considered change reduced visual clutter and helped streamline daily routines, making it easier to find what’s needed at a glance.

Designing for daily life through closet organization

Beyond products and layout, the focus remained on how the closet would function day to day. Seasonal items were stored intentionally, frequently worn pieces were placed within easy reach, and the overall flow of the space was designed to feel natural and calm.

This approach reflects our process, which begins with understanding how a client actually lives before creating systems to support that rhythm.

A closet designed to support everyday ease

The completed closet demonstrates how style and function can coexist seamlessly. By applying principles of professional home organization, the space now supports Catherine’s routine while remaining simple to maintain over time.

This transformation reflects the same thoughtful approach seen across our closet organization projects, where intentional systems bring clarity and confidence to everyday living. This closet transformation also highlights how closet organization in Toronto can balance style and function while supporting everyday ease.
